Some paintings fight you.
Shimmara flowed.
From the very first stroke, she moved across the canvas like water - graceful, powerful, inevitable. Where Smolderdash roared and Mooncinder ruled in silence, Shimmara simply swam into being. As a Pisces, I’ve always felt at home in water, and painting her felt like slipping beneath the surface - natural, weightless, and alive.
I imagined her as the queen of the unseen world below, a serpent-like dragon gliding through ruins older than memory, a ruler among fish and shadows. Yet I didn’t have to force her into form. She seemed to guide my hand, revealing herself with such ease that I barely noticed how quickly the painting was finished. It wasn’t work - it was communion.
Shimmara didn’t just join the Dragonbeat world, she deepened it. With her, the series found its water, its balance, its quiet reminder that strength isn’t always loud - it can ripple, it can flow, it can pull you into depths you didn’t know you carried.
This painting is for anyone who feels the call of the water, who moves with the currents of intuition, and who knows that calm can be just as powerful as fire.

About the Dragonbeat Series
Each Dragonbeat painting is more than art - it’s a living character. Every brushstroke brings to life a dragon with its own lore, personality, and place in the Breyerwood Sanctum, the fantasy world at the heart of Dragonbeat magazine.
Unlike my other paintings, these creatures don’t stop at the canvas. They step beyond it - becoming cover models, story anchors, and guardians of their own legends. With each piece, you’re not just collecting a painting, you’re adopting a character whose tale continues to grow as the Dragonbeat world unfolds.
That’s why these works hold a unique value. They’re part fine art, part storytelling, and part world-building - originals that exist at the crossroads of painting and myth. Owning one means holding both a piece of art and a piece of lore that will never be repeated.
