This piece was born as a second interpretation of After the Rain — a painting I created during a moment of artistic reset. That first hummingbird helped me reclaim confidence after a struggle, and Crowned in Light grew from the same spirit, carrying the light even further. While inspired by the original, this painting stands on its own, with new energy, richer contrast, and an expanded sense of motion and joy.
 
The composition captures a hummingbird in mid-lift, emerging from the splash in a glowing arc of color. Using layered brushwork, soft edge transitions, and a luminous palette, I aimed to fuse the realism of feathers with the expressive movement of water and light. The title reflects both the subject’s visual glow and its quiet moment of majesty — crowned not by jewels, but by light itself.
 
Crowned in Light is part of my Birds of Paradise series and the second piece in the growing Radiant Flight Collection, which celebrates the quiet power and grace of winged creatures through bold color, emotional atmosphere, and playful energy.
